Would You Listen To A Prayer From A JW And Say Amen If They Said A Prayer In Your Presence?
by minimus inmy mom has had visits from various jws and they have asked her if they could say a prayer before they left.
i respectfully listened to the prayers while i was visiting and might silently say amen if i felt the prayer was appropriate for my mom.. i'm just curious, how would you handle this type of situation?.

Never having received a birthday greeting from your parents.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. inmy wife turned fifty five the other day and i pen this from her perspective.. "happy birthday".
a harmless, yet meaningful expression of recognition from one's parents that they appreciate having brought you into the world.
for many it is a special day to be remembered, and to acknowledge that you are remembered.. in all her years of life my wife has never been given a birthday greeting from her parents.

"Happy Birthday". A harmless, yet meaningful expression of recognition from one's parents that they appreciate having brought you into the world. For many it is a special day to be remembered, and to acknowledge that you are remembered.
In all her years of life my wife has never been given a birthday greeting from her parents. She is now so far removed from the witness life of her childhood that she no longer cares, but surely for many it must raise doubts and insecurities about their relationship with their parents, that their parents cannot express some sort of joy and remembrance over the fact that they brought a child into the world.
But then again, we must take into account that these parents are jws, for whom it should not be underestimated what they may be likely to do for the sake of their deluded bible beliefs. Birthdays = glorifying self = idolatry = one pissed off jehovah = bird fodder.
Cheeses. Just another reason why jws and their religion are disgusting.

Not in the slightest possible way. In fact, anyone who is a jw in this day and age, and who has any measure of commonsense and yet remains a jw, fully deserves every associated 'blessing' which accompanies such belonging.
Cheeses. Pitiful but not pitying.

Yes, and I shall be eternally grateful, for it provided the final issue to cause me to meet with the elders and let them know in no uncertain terms that the time for me for to be considered a jw was over. Well and truly.
A fat fuck of sister from a nearby congo spotted me buying lottery tickets and had a gleeful look on her face for doing so. I was not concealing the activity, for by this stage I no longer cared what jw saw me doing what, or when. A short time later I received a call from an elder requesting a meeting, I put two and two together, and figured that the charming sister had reported me. I met with them and that was my last time ever in a kh.
If ever I see her again I plan to express my appreciation.

Does anyone know the networth of the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society ?
by Balaamsass inwith the more recent assimilation of congregation properties, profit on sales of major real estate worldwide, and building of the new upstate compound does anyone have a handle on current net worth?
"book value"?.
it would seem some of this data would be available by government charities disclosure.

I am sure, I, along with many others, feel the wts is not worth a pinch of shit.
Ooops. After putting glasses on, I see that it is NETworth. Oh well, same applies.

The world's most respected scientific journal - awake magazine - has reported that the most successful way to gain bible knowledge whilst learning another language is to do it when naked. Something to do with the pores of the skin being linked to the brain, so the more pores exposed, the greater the absorption of knowledge.
Will need a video link for greater effectiveness.
No, I do not have the time for such pursuits, but I am sure there are keen teachers here who would be willing to assist under such circumstances.
Cheeses. Just being helpful.

Since The Prophetic Failure Of 1975..
by metatron inaccording to smart money magazine, the average life expectancy in 1975 was 72.6 years (us).
in 2011, it is 78.2 (oct issue, page 58 - unlike the deceptive awake, i give proper references).
pretty good for a 'dying system", huh?.

Never underestimate what large numbers of stupid people are able to achieve in perpetuating such a scam.

Practical ways we can assist and improve the lives of jaydubs.
by Holey_Cheeses*King_of_the juice. init's time all you mentally diseased and demon possessed heathen ex-jws acknowledged the fine works being achieved by the brothers.
afterall, there are many here who continue to espouse the ruputed fact that the jws they know, or are related to, are decent, honest, loving persons.. perhaps it's just me, but as i reflect, i wonder, where were all wonderful persons when i was in the cult?
a 'good' jw is a mythical creature, much like their god.. but anyhow, putting that aside - what are some down to earth practical ways we can help the brothers?.

appostate,
Where to start but to say thank you for your suggestions and analysis. Can I expect an invoice in the mail?
Just a brief reply to your three points -
1. I have covered elsewhere the 'symbolism' behind (no pun intended) my avatar. As you have never seen me in person, What makes you think it has been photoshopped? Be thankful it's not stuck up your arse.
2. Repeat. I! AM! NOT! ANGRY! I don't get angry, I get even. I appreciate your analysis of my 'problem'. You may be the person to seek guidance about some erotic dreams I have been experiencing lately. Suprisingly, you have featured prominantly. I was amazed at your agility taking into consideration a person of your age and weight.
The 'good folks' may need help. First they must want help. I have neither been commissioned, ordained, ordered, pleaded with to, coerced, encouraged, begged, inherited the task, or willing accepted, to help any jw.
3. You made two mistakes. First you let that 'cocky CO' bastard into your house, and secondly you missed the chance to turf him out on his arse.
As you mention 'friends at the hall', I guess you are still an active dub. And that about sums it up. No doubt you are one of the 'good' folk'.
Cheeses. Buddy of all the good folk& friends.
To quote brother Robert Zimmerman from the ............watchtower
"No reason to get excited, Cheeses he kindly spoke,
There are many here among us , who feel that life is but a joke."
